A frequently asked question is, "Can we buy additional reagent for the UFT300 H. pylori Quick Test". This usually comes about because units are running out of reagent before all the test plates are used. If this is happening, it is important to ascertain why the reagent is running out.

There is sufficient reagent in each 5 and 50 test kit to perform 5 and 50 tests respectively. Therefore if the reagent is running out you should consider reviewing the usage of reagent. You only need to add 1 drop (max. 2 drops) to each test plate. If your users are adding more, then there are two consequences that need to be avoided:

1) You will increase the risk of false negatives. Adding too much reagent will dilute (buffer) the reaction and therefore the test would need longer than 5 minutes to incubate. I know this is counterintuitive, but use the correct amount of reagent and you can't go wrong.

2) You will likely run out of reagent. If you find you have run out of reagent, replacement bottles are not available to purchase separately. This is deliberate, as we want to ensure that our users are using the test correctly to get the maximum benefit from the test.
